New School Year

Well we have started the school year and here it is almost December and it has flown by. The schools have been great, we have had some really good shows and the students and staffs have seemed to love our animals that we are traveling with this year. Gus the bobcat has been a delight, I have had bobcats before and no one knows the great job Cheryl has done raising and working with this cat. Anyone that has worked with them knows how tough they are and being in front of a audience is a challenge. But Cheryl has only had a couple shirts and sweaters damaged from its claws and for a bobcat that is excellent. He is outstanding and this is a animal that people need to know about. Elizabeth the baboon has been a favorite and the energy level that she brings has our audiences falling in love with her instantly, and funny......she is a natural comedian and she knows it. The audience cannot hear her but she is laughing the whole time she is jumping around a nd hanging by my hair and pretty much beating me up. We love her and she is good for our hearts after losing Dolly. The ring tail lemur is a big hit and because of the popularity of the movie "Madagascar" the kids are in a different world while she is out, they love her. And about every show I can get her to make her hello sound and that is very cool. The tarantula and python give many the creeps but still we get a lot of positive feed back from the schools. We have about a week off and then we will be in Mooresville and be doing our December shows and anticipate 2010...all the best, Larry

Alligator Adoption

Well we had another alligator brought to our compound on saturday. He was over five feet long and his name is "Amos". They took good care of him but they were not prepared to do the things that are required to have a permit to keep a alligator that size in Indiana. Our alligator family grows and before long we may have more gators than some parts of Florida.....that is a joke. There are over a million gators in Florida. And just think they were close to extinction at one time. What a success story or is it, now if a gator ends up to close to a neighborhood they dont capture it and relocate it they just kill it. It seems to me the gators were here first so in their own homeland they should have a few more rights. But that is just my opinion, and by the way gators do not make good pets...just close friends...

Baby Elizabeth

Well baby Elizabeth our olive baboon is finding new adventures everyday. Today it was she did not want me to have her blue ball. And she would carry it to me and if I touched it she would just scream at me. This is a new game and today it was her favorite. Gus the bobcat is growing like a weed and we are trying to start him on raw meat..he is being kind of paticular. Cannot wait to start our shool season with our animal program. If your school does not have us signed up have them call us at 765-739-6719 or email at larrytheanimalguy.com...talk to you soon.

Open House

Well we had our open house along with the Central Indiana Cage Bird Club visit and it was a huge success. Lots of folks and we raised about 1400.00 for wildlife rescue and education. There were lots of friends to share our animal family with and everyone was excited to see our new additions baby elizabeth our olive baboon and Gus our baby bobcat. Our "kids" did very well with all of the company. There are pictures of the day on my facebook page, in fact 42 to be exact. We will have to do it again very soon....

Thursday, April 9, 2009

Well the fundraising for our new baboon that we are going to adopt has taken off. We have begun receiving checks and it is unbelievable the genorosity and love that people have shown. It is a nine week old female olive baboon and is now in Texas. It looks like april 25th is the date that we are looking at to go and pick her up.
